“For if you remain silent at this time, ,you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14
Scripture Focus: Esther 4
Never underestimate the call of God on your life. The Book of Esther highlights the survival of God’s people amid hostility. It dramatically shows how God’s chosen servants were instrumental in His plan. Haman, second in command in the royal court, wanted the Jews destroyed. He manipulated the king to rule for their execution. Meanwhile, Esther, a Jewish orphan raised by her cousin Mordecai, was brought on the scene at the appropriate time as queen.
God used her to save her people. Both Esther and Mordecai were the most unlikely people to have a role in shaping the future of the nation. But God is not bound in His plans, using only successful, prominent, talented people. The book of Esther-in fact, much of the Bible!-is proof of that. It’s not complicated for us. God desires our loyalty and submission.
He may well place us in a significant position to offer hope and deliverance to those who desperately need Him. But more likely, he will use you right in the home, neighborhood, school, or workplace you’re in each day.
Insight: God does not want us to sit idle. Seize the opportunities He gives!
