Some good questions for prospective sheriffs:
Would you enforce red flag laws, if they were passed in Texas?
If they were passed and another agency went to someone’s house in this county to enforce them, would you stop them?
Would you stop citizens if they went to stop a law enforcement agency from enforcing red flag laws against a citizen of this county?If assault weapons bans or magazine bans were passed, and some agency came to enforce it, would you assist them? stop them?
interfere with any citizens attempting to stop the enforcement of those laws?If Texas passed a law requiring registration of assault weapons or other guns or accessories, would you enforce it, assist other agencies enforcing it, interfere with the enforcement of it, interfere with citizens who were defending those who refused to register?
If universal background checks were passed in Texas, and if you learned that some citizens were buying or selling firearms without going through background checks,
would you enforce the law against them? assist other agencies in enforcing the laws against our county citizens, or interfere with citizens who were attempting defend those who were engaging in firearms transactions without background checks?Will you enforce the ban on bump stocks? assist other agencies in said enforcement, interfere with other agencies’ enforcement, or interfere with citizens resisting said ban?
If violence broke out between the citizens, and an enforcement agency trying to enforce any of the above laws, which side would you support?
Would you support your county being a Second Amendment sanctuary county?
